Our Faith

Statement of Faith

Our beliefs are rooted in the Holy Scriptures — the inspired, inerrant Word of God — and in the historic Christian faith as revealed through the Bible.

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible — both Old and New Testaments — is the divinely inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, and the supreme rule for faith and practice.

The Holy Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — co-equal, co-eternal, and worthy of all worship and devotion.

Jesus Christ, Lord and Saviour

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ — fully God and fully man — who was born of a virgin, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of the Father.

Salvation by Grace

We believe that salvation is the free gift of God — received through repentance from sin and personal faith in Jesus Christ. It cannot be earned by works but only by God's grace.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, indwells, and empowers believers. The gifts of the Spirit are active and available to the Church today for ministry and mission.

The Resurrection & Eternal Life

We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ and in the resurrection of all people — believers to eternal life in God's presence, and unbelievers to eternal separation from God.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ — a universal community of believers who are called to worship, discipleship, fellowship, and mission under the headship of Jesus Christ.

The Great Commission

We believe every follower of Christ is called to make disciples of all nations — proclaiming the Gospel in word and deed to people of every culture, language, and generation.

The Holy Spirit in Our Ministry

At Adonai Ministries, we hold the ministry of the Holy Spirit as central — not peripheral — to all of church life and worship. Our very name, "Adonai" (Hebrew: Lord God), reflects our reverence for the sovereign God who moves by His Spirit among His people.

We believe in Spirit-baptism, the active gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12), and the ongoing work of the Spirit in conviction, sanctification, and empowerment for service. We invite the Holy Spirit's presence and leadership in every service, every prayer meeting, and every ministry decision.

This is why our church is called Church of The Holy Spirit — a community wholly surrendered to God's Spirit.

Our Core Doctrines

Biblical answers to life's most important questions about faith and practice.

We practice water baptism by immersion as a public declaration of a believer's faith in Jesus Christ, their death to the old life, and their resurrection to new life in Him. Water baptism follows personal confession of faith and is a joyful act of obedience to Christ's command (Matthew 28:19).

We observe the Lord's Supper as a sacred memorial of Christ's death and resurrection. Communion is celebrated regularly among our congregation as an act of remembrance, proclamation, and anticipation of Christ's return (1 Corinthians 11:23–26). All baptized believers are welcome to participate.

Prayer is the lifeblood of Adonai Ministries. We believe in the power of individual and corporate prayer (James 5:16), and we actively practice intercessory prayer for our congregation, our city, our nation, and the nations of the world. Our Friday Prayer Night gatherings are open to all.

We hold the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16–17). All preaching, teaching, and church practice at Adonai Ministries is tested against Scripture. We are committed to expository, verse-by-verse Bible teaching that honours the whole counsel of God.

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9). We believe every person is separated from God by sin and in need of a Saviour. Jesus Christ, through His death and resurrection, made full atonement for sin. All who repent and place their faith in Him are forgiven and receive eternal life.

We believe in the literal, bodily return of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the dead. Those who have received God's gift of salvation through faith in Christ will spend eternity in the glorious presence of God. This blessed hope motivates our urgency to share the Gospel with every person we encounter.
